Simple Steps to Recovery


Think Carefully . . . Speak Kindly . . . Act Lovingly

Simple Step 1

Avoid running away from your loss. Don't be afraid of your thoughts, however, determine to keep them under control — don't let them run away with you.

Simple Step 2

Set aside time periods to write down you thoughts about your loss.

Simple Step 3

Find a patient non-judgmental person will listen to you as you recount your experiences from the present back to the beginning of your relationship. Be careful not to wear out your welcome by constantly going over the same experinces.

Simple Step 4

Shed your tears whenever necessary. It's OK to cry until your are exhausted for this brings about needed release. Be patient with yourself. Healthy recovery takes time.


A Simple Prayer:

"Father in heaven,
This loss is so painful I can't bear to think about it. Help me to avoid wearing out my welcome with those who are trying to help me. Please give me the faith and patience I need to care for myself.
Thank You for hearing this prayer, in the name of Jesus, the Great Physician."
